The City of El Cajon is currently searching for a detail-oriented individual to join our Public Works team.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic team player who is organized, resourceful, and has a passion for excellent customer service, thrives in a fast-paced environment and is able to multitask effectively.
Knowledge on bids, contracts and related aspects of Capital Improvement Projects is desired.
The Recruitment Process:
Applications and Supplemental Questionnaires will be screened.
The most highly qualified candidates will be invited to participate in a Qualifications Appraisal Interview and a practical exam which are tentatively scheduled for Thursday, February 8, 2024.
Successful candidates will be placed on an eligible list for employment consideration for at least six months.

Management Assistant The following duties are typical for this classification.
Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.
Assists in budget preparation and administration; Assists with the acquisition of supplies, materials, and services; Assists in development and revision of forms, policies and procedures; Assists with specialized administrative problems including staffing requirements and equipment usage levels; Completes analysis, studies, and research projects regarding practices, procedures and operations; Prepares detailed statistical analysis, charts, and graphs and makes written or oral presentations; Prepares purchase requisitions and maintains purchasing files; Prepares manuals, departmental correspondence, and various informational surveys; Researches and prepares grant applications and administers grants; Serves as liaison for the department in its contacts with other City departments, external agencies, outside vendors, and community groups; May assume supervisory responsibility over departmental administrative staff.
Qualification Guidelines
Experience:
None required.
Preferably one year providing administrative and analytical support.
Education:
Equivalent to at least a Bachelor's degree (minimum completed California units = 120 semester/180 quarter) with a major in public or business administration or a related field (in line with hiring department).

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
