Backstage Health is currently looking for Outdoor Education Specialists to join our team on a contract basis, serving an exciting Outdoor School located in Descanso, CA.
Assignment Hours:
Monday - Thursday, 40 hours per week, with 10-hour shifts.
Responsibilities:
Provide educational support and guidance to students in various activities, including outdoor hikes.
Develop and implement individualized education plans tailored to students' specific needs and objectives.
Employ effective teaching strategies to engage students and foster their academic and personal development.
Collaborate closely with parents, teachers, and other professionals to cultivate a nurturing learning environment.
Monitor and track student progress, offering continuous feedback to facilitate ongoing improvement.
Maintain precise records of student performance.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with students in settings such as daycare, babysitting, tutoring, or similar roles.
Familiarity with childhood development principles and techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
Demonstrated patience, empathy, and the ability to establish connections with students of diverse ages and backgrounds.
Adaptability to tailor teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students.
Proficiency in managing classroom dynamics and addressing behavioral challenges in a constructive manner.
Completion of college-level coursework in natural sciences or related fields.
